Ozarks

We are in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains visiting family and friends. We stayed for a couple of days with Jimmy and Mary. Their house has amazing views of the Ozarks. Jimmy is very big into woodworking so John was able to build a small shelf for our RV and I got some laundry done. We were able to go with them to a neighbor’s party where everyone was incredibly friendly. Good visit!

We next stayed in the town of Jasper. The rains kept us inside the RV for a few days. This bird flew under our awning and stayed for several hours.

Down the road was a wildlife museum. Fun!

The leaves this year are mostly just brown due to the dry year. But the views are still nice.

We hiked Lost Valley Trail. This trail is listed on many of the “best hikes” list. Most of it is walking along a creek in the woods but there is also a rock shelter and some large rocks to climb.

At the end of the trail is a cave. You have to take a flashlight along and be ready to crawl and squeeze into small areas.
