Visiting Family and Friends

We stayed at John’s sister for a couple of days in West Virginia.  That meant we could do several loads of laundry and catch up on email and the blog.  John ‘paid’ for the stay by working underneath the house on a piping issue.  This is what John and Sue looked like soon after crawling out.

We visited cousin Judy and her husband Rusty. It was a wonderful afternoon of talk plus a special birthday meal for me!

In Ohio, I visited with Nancy.  I’d call her an old friend college friend, but neither of us is old! I’m going to pretend that we haven’t changed in looks at all since college.  At least Nancy hasn’t changed.

John visited with friends from work (Ron, Jeff, and Bill).  These four have got together for years so they enjoyed a “boys night out’. John also saw his sister Janice and his high school friend Bill and his wife Barbara.  No pictures for these visits.

We had a great time talking at Bob & Pam’s (brother and sister-in-law). It included Mark (another brother) making a warming traditional meal that Mom used to make that (roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions). Here’s the family with most of the pets.

I got to see a Becca from my days of community theater.  Thirty years ago (!) we were in a song and dance group that performed at various places in the community.  The funny part of the visit was when I got there.  Becca and I had emailed back and forth a few times on the date and time for our visit, but it had been a week or so since the last email.  Rod, her husband, answered the door.  I asked for Becca.  He said that she wasn’t there.  I’m thinking this is a joke. Turns out Becca forgot about my visit (though it was on the calendar).  Rod thought some crazy lady had showed up on his porch. He let us in until he got Becca on the phone. Actually, Becca was only around 10 minutes late.  We had a great visit!
