The
big thing about RVing is that stuff happens. It rains when you want to hike.
The campground you hoped to camp in is full. You forget something and the
nearest store is miles away. That sort of stuff. Another one is that things
break.
We
were driving on I-75 when one of our tires blew! John slowed down but there was
smoke coming from the tires. We’re not sure what caused it, but both tires (side
by side tires) were damaged. It doesn’t look like dry rot (the tires are not
yet 3 years old). Anyhow, we called the company we use for roadside assistance.
The truck with new tires came in 90 minutes. When it wasn’t raining, I sat
outside reading since it was hot in the RV. Then it took another hour or so to
jack the RV up in the grass. We were on rims so we couldn’t drive anywhere.
After
that came three hours of driving through Atlanta traffic. Luckily, there was
space at the next campground. Did I mention it was raining off and on all day?
Setting up in the rain is always fun. The next morning was still lightly
raining so no morning hike.
RV’ing
is always exciting!
