Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef is not as popular as Zion or Bryce (1.2 MM), but we think the views here are more astounding! A view along the roads.
The Castle

The Chimney
We stopped to see the petroglyph panels. Most don’t have signs so you have to search for them. Since no one really knows what they depict, we’ve decided to come up with our own names. This is SpongeBob between two aliens.

Charlie Brown

Moon, bear, dog, deer

The Gifford House was used as a home but now sells wonderful pies along with other stuff. We were told these pies were a must-do by people we met in an earlier park. Tasty and perfect for two people.

There are lots of orchards in the area. They allow you to eat any of the fruit that you can eat there for free (two pears!). You can also pick more and pay a small fee for the fruit you take.

Mule deer in the area.
