Park Loop Road

Park Loop Road travels along the east side of the island.  Cadillac Mountain is the place everyone goes so there are people everywhere.  However, the view is worth it.  It’s the highest point on the island. The whole thing is another exfoliation dome, this one made of pink granite.  The view included 3 cruise ships in port along with a large sail boat.

Another stop was Sand Beach and the Great Head Trail.  I thought the hike was fairly challenging since we had to climb over rocks the majority of the time.  But it was very fun!

Thunder Hole is a spot where the waves and tide cause a loud booming noise.  It doesn’t boom all the time, but it did while we were there.

Jordan Pond along with the two “Bubble” mountains (North Bubble and South Bubble mountains).
