Earlier
this year was the grand opening of a new state park in Minnesota called Lake
Vermilion. We are staying there now. The campsites are big, we have
electricity, and the park has internet at the campsites (that part is highly
unusual for a state park).
Earlier
this year there was a major storm that went through the park. Lots of trees
broke off.

from a overlook.
…and
a morning walk.
The
park is very north and 40 miles or so from Canada. The nights are very dark and
the stars are bright including the Milky Way. We’ve been checking for aurora
borealis. We can see a glow in the north but it isn’t very colorful or bright.
I’ll keep checking since it is so very variable.
