I’m
back in Minnesota. Even better, we finally got to see the ball-of-twine! We’ve
talked about the ball-of-twine type of places, but this one is a real one.
There are different world titles for balls of twine. Kansas has the biggest
rolled by a town. This one in Darwin Minnesota is the “World's Largest Twine Ball Rolled
By One Man”. There’s another we plan to visit in Wisconsin that is the heaviest
by one man. Another is in Missouri and is the largest but not the heaviest
since it is made from nylon twine instead of sisal twine.
Francis
Johnson worked on this ball from 1950 to 1979. It weighs 17,400 pounds and is
roughly 40’ in circumference.
I am
SO happy now!
